Cross Country Jump Building Days

Two boarders working

It’s September and Cross Country Jump Building Days are here. Each Saturday this month, we are inviting our boarders to join us in building new jumps for Walden Ridge. If you volunteer your time and muscle we will provide lunch. We are only using recycled material from around the farm: cedar posts, old stalls, trees, shrubs, logs, even old tires! It’s important to us here at Walden Ridge that we stay green and find ways to be sustainable while improving farm facilities.

Boarder with a Hammer

We’d like to thank everyone who came out and participated for our first build last Saturday September, 7. It was lots of fun and very productive. We had fifteen people out and we built four jumps.

Our three remaining Jump Building Days are September 14, 21, and 28, 2013. We start at 8:30 each morning, or whenever people arrive to help out. This Saturday, we have the addition of having a potluck scheduled for the afternoon. So why not help out with the jumps and enjoy some social time with the other boarders.

If you have any ideas for our jumps, we’d love to hear them! Please send them to Barn Manager, Starr Schlueter, and include pictures if possible. We hope to see many of you out for Cross Country Jump Building Days this September!
